The Dakota Wesleyan University (DWU) volleyball team has been recognized as the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) academic national champion for the 2025-2026 school year. The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced that the Tigers achieved the highest team grade-point average in the NAIA women's volleyball category. The team posted a 3.84 GPA on a 4.0 scale, the best among all NAIA women's volleyball programs. This is the first time in DWU's history that the volleyball team has earned this top academic honor. The award highlights the team's commitment to academic excellence alongside athletic performance. The NAIA is a governing body for small college athletics in the United States, and the AVCA annually recognizes teams with the highest GPAs. The DWU volleyball team's achievement reflects the dedication of its student-athletes and coaching staff to balancing rigorous studies with competitive sports. The Tigers have set a high standard for future teams to follow.
