The Los Angeles Lakers have officially signed forward Arthur Kaluma to a two-way contract, according to a team announcement. To make room on the roster, the Lakers have waived guard Peter Suder.
Kaluma, who played collegiately at Creighton and most recently at Kansas State, went undrafted in the 2024 NBA Draft. He will now have the opportunity to split time between the Lakers and their G League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers, under the terms of the two-way deal. Two-way contracts allow teams to carry an additional player who can spend up to 50 games with the parent club while playing the remainder of the season in the G League.
The move comes as the Lakers continue to fill out their roster ahead of the regular season. Suder, who signed a two-way contract with the Lakers in July, appeared in preseason games but did not make a regular-season appearance for the team. His waiver opens a two-way slot that Kaluma will now occupy.
Kaluma, 22, averaged 14.3 points and 7.0 rebounds per game in his senior season at Kansas State. He is known for his versatility and defensive potential, which could make him a candidate for minutes with the Lakers as the season progresses. The team will hope that Kaluma can develop further within their system.
The Lakers have not commented further on the transaction. The team is currently preparing for their upcoming NBA season.
