Modi Slams AAP as 'Utterly Dishonest' in Punjab Rally
By TrendingWire Newsroom
Prime Minister Narendra Modi attacked Punjab's ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) during a rally in Jalandhar on Saturday, labeling it a 'Kattar Beimaan Party' (utterly dishonest party). He accused the state government of widespread corruption and failing to maintain law and order. Modi cited the conviction of a former AAP leader for murder during the 2020 Delhi riots as evidence of the party's criminal links. 'This party has no respect for the law,' he said. The prime minister urged voters to elect the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in upcoming elections for a more prosperous Punjab. He promised better governance and development if the BJP comes to power. The rally comes ahead of the 2024 general elections, where Punjab is a key battleground. AAP has been ruling Punjab since 2022, but faces criticism over alleged corruption and rising crime. Modi's remarks are part of a series of attacks on opposition parties before the polls. Political analysts say the BJP aims to weaken AAP's hold in the state by raising corruption issues.
