Iran says it is ready for US ground invasion as attacks continue

By TrendingWire Newsroom

Iran has stated it is prepared to face a US ground invasion, as American airstrikes on Iranian targets continue for a ninth consecutive night. A spokesperson for Iran's Foreign Ministry said the country's leadership is "counting down the minutes to welcome" US forces in any ground attack. The remarks come amid escalating tensions between the two nations. The US military said its latest strikes hit Iranian command centers, air defense systems, missile and drone launch sites, and other targets. The attacks aim to reduce Iran's ability to threaten ships in the Strait of Hormuz, a vital waterway for global oil shipments. US President Donald Trump said the strikes were carried out in honor of three American service members recently killed in attacks linked to Iran. In response, Iran's Revolutionary Guards have launched attacks on US allies in the region, including Jordan, Kuwait, and Syria. They claimed to have hit US military facilities and aircraft. Explosions were reported in several Iranian cities, including near a nuclear plant in Bushehr. One person was reportedly killed in southwestern Iran. The ongoing conflict has affected oil prices and shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has warned that not a single drop of oil will pass through the waterway if US attacks continue. However, oil prices fell slightly after Iran said diplomatic talks are ongoing through mediators. The US has said it remains open to a diplomatic solution, but attacks continue. The situation remains tense with no immediate sign of de-escalation.
