Israeli forces demolished 11 Palestinian homes across the occupied West Bank over a 24-hour period, according to local sources cited by Al Jazeera on Tuesday. The demolitions are part of a broader crackdown that also included settler attacks, detentions, and land seizures.
In Masafer Yatta, Israeli settlers assaulted three Palestinians, including an elderly woman, and blocked an ambulance from reaching the area. Separately, six Palestinians were detained in Nablus. Israeli authorities issued four military orders to seize more than 22 dunams (2.2 hectares) of Palestinian-owned land near Jenin, claiming it was needed for military purposes, reported the Wafa news agency.
Additional mobile homes were brought to the Tayasir military checkpoint east of Tubas, indicating plans to establish a new Israeli settlement, a local council leader told Wafa.
Meanwhile, Palestinians in the West Bank face severe restrictions at Israeli checkpoints, with hours-long delays that have forced women to give birth outside hospitals, according to a separate Al Jazeera report. The closures have trapped patients and disrupted access to medical care, highlighting the daily hardships under occupation.
The demolitions and settlement expansion come amid heightened tensions in the region. No injuries were reported in the home demolitions, but the incidents have drawn condemnation from Palestinian authorities.
