Argentine Theatre Awards Debut, Chilean Films Shine at International Festivals

A new awards ceremony for commercial theatre in Argentina, the Premios Pinti Gala, will hold its first edition on July 27, 2026, at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires. The event, created by the Asociación Argentina de Empresarios/as Teatrales y Musicales (AADET), will be broadcast live on eltrece. It aims to honor excellence in commercial theatre. Meanwhile, Chilean cinema is gaining international recognition. Manuela Infante's work 'Vampyr' is being screened at the Valdivia International Film Festival in Chile. Additionally, director Alba Gaviraghi's first fiction short film, 'Una Fortaleza,' has been selected for the Orizzonti Corti competition at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival. Gaviraghi's first feature film as director, 'Hijas Únicas,' has finished shooting in Santiago and Chile's Central Coast and is now in post-production, with a planned release in 2026. These developments highlight the growing cultural exchange and success of Latin American arts on global stages.
