US Continues Strikes on Iran as Tensions Escalate

By TrendingWire Newsroom

The United States launched strikes on Iran for the seventh consecutive night, the US Central Command reported. The attacks targeted Iranian surveillance sites, military logistics infrastructure, underground weapons storage facilities, and maritime assets. In response, a senior Iranian military official warned that if the bombings persist, Iran will launch "full-scale offensive operations" and will no longer limit itself to retaliatory measures. Iran has already retaliated with missile and drone attacks on US military facilities in Bahrain, Jordan, and Kuwait. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) urged countries hosting US forces to prepare for a "corresponding response" and to activate civil defence units to protect citizens. Jordan's military said it intercepted 10 Iranian missiles that entered its airspace early Saturday. Iran's foreign ministry spokesperson described a US strike on Hormozgan province that killed eight civilians as a "blatant war crime." Meanwhile, Kuwait Airlines rescheduled most flights on Saturday after the country's airspace was closed due to the Iranian attacks. Separately, in Gaza, an Israeli airstrike on a funeral in the Al-Balata market area of the Nuseirat refugee camp killed eight people and injured several others, according to Gaza's civil defence agency and a hospital. The ongoing conflict continues to escalate with no signs of de-escalation.
