India's First Hydrogen Train to Run on Jind-Sonipat Route
By TrendingWire Newsroom
India has joined a small group of nations using hydrogen-powered trains. The country's first hydrogen train will operate on the Jind-Sonipat route. Officials chose this route because of low traffic and good infrastructure. The train has 10 coaches, making it the longest hydrogen-powered train in the world. It uses technology developed in India, including a powerful fuel-cell system. This system turns hydrogen into electricity to power the train. Only water vapor is released, so it is very clean. The service will start soon and later be extended to New Delhi. Hydrogen trains are seen as a green alternative to diesel trains. They help reduce pollution and reliance on fossil fuels. Germany, France, and China have also tested such trains. India's train is special because of its length and indigenous design. The project shows India's push for clean energy in transport. The government hopes to expand hydrogen trains to other routes in the future. This step could lower carbon emissions from railways significantly. The Jind-Sonipat section was chosen because it already has needed infrastructure. This made it easier to start the service quickly. The train is expected to carry passengers comfortably while being environment-friendly.
