Verstappen Fastest in Belgian GP First Practice, Hadjar Penalized
By TrendingWire Newsroom
Max Verstappen set the fastest time in the first practice session for the Belgian Grand Prix, outpacing Lewis Hamilton of Ferrari. The Red Bull driver was quickest around the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, with Hamilton finishing second. The session gave teams their first chance to test cars on the demanding track in Belgium.
Meanwhile, Isack Hadjar, a driver competing in the junior categories, was handed a grid penalty for a technical infringement. The penalty will drop him down the starting grid for his race. No further details were provided on the exact nature of the infringement.
First practice is typically used by teams to assess car setup and tire performance. The Belgian Grand Prix is known for its fast corners and unpredictable weather, making driver skill and car reliability crucial. Verstappen, a multiple-time winner at Spa, looks strong early on. Hamilton, now with Ferrari after leaving Mercedes, is showing competitive pace in his new team.
The second practice session is scheduled later today, where drivers will continue to refine their setups ahead of qualifying. The race weekend is part of the 2025 Formula One season. Fans are eager to see if Verstappen can secure another win at one of his favorite tracks.
