Malaysia Vows to Deport Any Israelis Found in Tech Commune Investigation

By TrendingWire Newsroom

Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has stated that any Israeli nationals discovered in the country will be immediately deported, as Malaysia does not recognize Israel. His remarks come amid an investigation into Network School, a digital nomad community in Johor state founded by former Coinbase executive Balaji Srinivasan. Authorities are probing allegations that Israeli citizens with dual nationality entered Malaysia using non-Israeli passports and participated in the program. Johor's Chief Minister Onn Hafiz Ghazi has ordered a thorough investigation into the identities, travel documents, and activities of all participants. Malaysia has no diplomatic relations with Israel and typically bars Israeli passport holders, but dual citizenship can allow entry with other passports. The Home Ministry has already examined 266 foreign nationals from 40 countries connected to the community and found all had valid documents. No Israelis have been confirmed as present yet, but the prime minister vowed swift action if any are found. Malaysia has long been a supporter of Palestinian rights and maintains a policy of non-recognition of Israel.
