Eight years after the cast of The Big Bang Theory last appeared at Comic-Con, several actors returned for the spinoff Stuart Fails To Save the Universe. The single-camera series, which premiered on HBO Max, follows Kevin Sussman's character Stuart Bloom and features Lauren Lapkus as Denise. The show made its Comic-Con debut with a panel that teased upcoming episodes, including a DC-themed installment.
Co-creator Bill Prady explained the show's multiverse concept, which involves alternate realities. The series premiere depicts a post-apocalyptic Pasadena with strange occurrences such as zombie hands emerging from the ground, giant moths, and tears in reality. The series builds on The Big Bang Theory universe but takes a darker, more surreal turn.
The panel marked the franchise's first Comic-Con appearance since 2018, when the original cast attended before the final season. Fans were treated to behind-the-scenes insights and a look at how the spinoff expands the world of the original sitcom.
