Jared Leto has denied allegations of criminal sexual conduct made by four women in a new BBC documentary. The Oscar-winning actor and Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman issued a statement through his publicist declaring the claims “absolutely and categorically false.”
The documentary, titled “Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Darkest Secret,” features a total of 10 women who came forward with allegations against Leto. According to the reports, four of those women specifically accuse him of criminal sexual conduct, including incidents when they were teenagers. The other six women describe other forms of misconduct or inappropriate behavior.
Leto’s statement, reported by multiple outlets including The Hollywood Reporter, Billboard, and Variety, reads: “I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life. These claims are absolutely and categorically false.” The statement does not address specific allegations or individual accusers.
The documentary was released on Wednesday and has sparked widespread media coverage. Leto, known for his roles in “Dallas Buyers Club” and “Requiem for a Dream,” has not faced any formal charges, and the allegations have not been tested in court. Representatives for Leto have declined further comment beyond the initial denial.
