Activist Sonam Wangchuk Seeks Hospital Discharge to Join Protest March
By TrendingWire Newsroom
Sonam Wangchuk, a prominent activist, has requested temporary discharge from Safdarjung Hospital to participate in the 'Chalo Sansad' march to Parliament. Wangchuk was hospitalized after his health deteriorated during a hunger strike. He claims to be feeling fine now and wants to join the protest. However, a hospital bulletin states that continued medical intervention and uninterrupted clinical monitoring remain necessary for his recovery.
Supporters of Wangchuk have questioned the restrictions on his movement and communication. They argue that he should be allowed to leave. The activist had previously threatened to end his hunger strike if his demands were met. Meanwhile, clashes broke out between protesters and police near Jantar Mantar as demonstrators attempted to reach Parliament.
The situation remains tense as authorities maintain medical oversight while Wangchuk and his supporters push for his release to join the march.
