The Supreme Court has refused to urgently hear a plea challenging police action against protesters during a march in Delhi. The Chief Justice of India stated that the court was not inclined to examine video footage at the mentioning stage, saying, 'We are not interested in videos.' The plea was filed after security forces used lathis and tear gas to disperse demonstrators who were marching towards Parliament. The protesters, affiliated with the Climate Justice Party (CJP), were demanding the resignation of the education minister over alleged exam irregularities. The CJP's sit-in protest at Jantar Mantar has continued for two months. Activist Sonam Wangchuk remains on an indefinite hunger strike, demanding accountability. The court's decision means the matter will not be taken up on an urgent basis.
