China's Stealth Fighter Production Outpaces India's Naval Aviation

China has become the only country in the world to mass-produce two different types of stealth fighter jets at the same time, according to recent reports. This rapid expansion of China's naval air power is seen as a growing challenge for India, which has been slower to modernize its own fleet. Experts estimate that by 2027, China could be building up to 300 to 400 advanced fighter aircraft each year across all its jet programs. This includes the J-20 and J-35 stealth fighters, which are being developed for both air force and navy use. The ramp-up in production signals China's push to close the gap with the United States in military aviation. India, on the other hand, has faced delays in its own stealth fighter projects, such as the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA), which is still in development. The Indian Navy currently operates older aircraft and has been relying on foreign imports for its carrier-based fighters. The growing disparity in air power could shift the balance in the Indo-Pacific region. While China continues to invest heavily in its naval aviation, India's efforts to modernize have been slower, raising concerns among defense analysts. Both countries have long been rivals, with border disputes and strategic competition in the Indian Ocean. The expansion of China's fighter fleet is likely to increase pressure on India to accelerate its own defense programs.
