Iran Claims Drone Strikes on US Targets in Kuwait

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on Wednesday that it carried out drone attacks on US military facilities at the Ali Al Salem base in Kuwait. The IRGC stated that a drone strike “completely destroyed” an early-warning radar system at the base. Additional attacks targeted an aviation equipment warehouse and a hangar housing American MQ-9 drones, setting several aircraft on fire. The claims were reported by Iran’s state media outlet IRIB. Kuwait is a key ally of the United States and hosts US military personnel and equipment. The claims have not been independently verified, and there has been no immediate comment from US or Kuwaiti officials. The incident marks an escalation in regional tensions, as Iran has previously threatened to target US interests in the Middle East. The Ali Al Salem base is one of several facilities used by the US military in the region. The IRGC is a branch of Iran’s armed forces and is known for its missile and drone capabilities.
