Pete Golding, the defensive coordinator for Ole Miss, shared his thoughts on former boss Lane Kiffin and the issue of tampering in college football during SEC Media Days on Wednesday. Golding said he holds no ill will toward Kiffin, who left the Rebels for LSU just before the team's College Football Playoff run last season. In fact, Golding recently purchased one of Kiffin's houses in Oxford, Mississippi. Golding took over as head coach after Kiffin's departure and led Ole Miss to two playoff wins, nearly a third, thanks in part to star players quarterback Trinidad Chambliss and running back Kewan Lacy. Regarding tampering, Golding questioned the current state of college athletics, asking, 'What have we created?' He did not elaborate on specific incidents but hinted at the challenges coaches face with player movement and recruitment. Golding emphasized that his focus remains on the upcoming season and that he harbors no resentment toward Kiffin. The comments came as SEC Media Days continue, with coaches addressing various topics ahead of the new season.
