The justice ministers of Saudi Arabia and Turkey have discussed ways to strengthen judicial and legal cooperation during a meeting in Ankara. Saudi Justice Minister Dr. Waleed Al-Samaani met his Turkish counterpart, Akın Gürlek, as part of an official visit to Turkey.
The two officials reviewed how to implement a memorandum of understanding signed between their ministries. They explored expanding collaboration through sharing expertise, best practices, and professional experience. Topics included digital transformation, judicial training, knowledge sharing, professional exchange visits, and improving judicial services and procedures.
During the visit, Al-Samaani also toured Turkey's Constitutional Court and met its president, Kadir Özkaya, who explained the court's responsibilities and operations.
Both sides stressed the importance of continued coordination between relevant authorities and advancing areas of cooperation to serve the shared interests of Saudi Arabia and Turkey. The meeting reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen ties between the two countries in legal and judicial fields.
