Apple Music Increases Monthly Subscription Fee

By TrendingWire Newsroom

Apple Music has announced a price increase for its standard individual subscription, raising the monthly cost from $10.99 to $11.99. This is the first price change since 2022. The new rate takes effect immediately for new subscribers, while existing users will see the increase on their next billing date. Apple cited rising music licensing costs and investments in features like spatial audio as reasons for the hike. The move brings Apple Music closer in price to competitors like Spotify, which also raised its subscription fees earlier this year. Industry analysts note that streaming services are adjusting prices to maintain profitability amid growing competition and content costs. Despite the increase, Apple Music remains a popular platform with a catalog of over 60 million songs and exclusive releases. Subscribers can still choose family or student plans at different price points. The price change applies to users worldwide, though some regions may see different adjustments due to local factors. Apple continues to offer a three-month free trial for new customers. Other Apple services, such as Apple TV+ and iCloud, have not seen similar price changes recently. This adjustment marks the first subscription increase for Apple Music in over a year. Users are encouraged to review their plans and check for any changes in their billing.
