England may need to rethink attack after Kane
By TrendingWire Newsroom
England's record goalscorer Harry Kane will not play forever. When he eventually retires from international football, the team may have to change how they attack. Some experts are asking if England will use a 'false nine' – a forward who drops deep instead of staying high – to replace Kane's goals.
Kane has been England's main striker for years. He scored 62 goals in 91 games, making him the country's top scorer. But he is now 30 years old, and questions about his successor are growing. England has other talented forwards, like Jude Bellingham and Bukayo Saka, but none are pure strikers like Kane.
The false nine system is used by some top clubs. In this role, a player like Bellingham or Phil Foden could start as a forward but move into midfield to create space. This would change England's style completely. Manager Gareth Southgate has not yet hinted at his plans, but the debate is heating up.
England fans hope Kane will keep playing for a few more years. But planning for the future is important. The team may need to adapt to a new way of playing once their star striker steps down.
