Embraer Secures Major Jet Order from Abra Group for Up to 45 Aircraft

Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer has announced a significant deal with Abra Group, the parent company of Gol Airlines. The agreement includes a firm order for 20 Embraer E195-E2 jets, with options and rights for up to 45 additional aircraft. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2027. The E195-E2 is Embraer’s largest commercial jet, part of the E-Jets E2 family known for fuel efficiency and passenger comfort. This order strengthens Embraer’s position in the regional aviation market, particularly in Latin America. Abra Group, formed in 2022 through the merger of Gol and Avianca, operates one of the largest airline networks in the region. The deal is a major boost for Embraer, which has been focusing on expanding its commercial aircraft sales. The E195-E2 competes with models from Airbus and Boeing, offering lower operating costs for airlines. Embraer has sold hundreds of E2 jets worldwide, with Gol being a long-time customer. The new order underscores confidence in the aircraft’s performance and the recovery of air travel demand. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. The order will be added to Embraer’s backlog, which has grown steadily as airlines modernize their fleets. For Abra Group, the jets will help replace older models and support route expansion. Embraer expects to ramp up production to meet delivery timelines.
