Adobe Stock Downgraded by Morgan Stanley Over AI Competition Fears
By TrendingWire Newsroom
Morgan Stanley has downgraded Adobe's stock rating to 'underweight' and cut its price target by more than a third, citing growing competition from artificial intelligence (AI) alternatives. The investment bank's decision reflects concerns that AI-powered tools could disrupt Adobe's core business, which includes popular software like Photoshop and Acrobat.
Adobe has been facing investor skepticism for months as AI startups offer cheaper or more advanced solutions for tasks like image editing and document processing. The company is currently navigating multiple transitions, including a shift toward subscription-based services and the integration of its own AI features. However, Morgan Stanley warns that these efforts may not be enough to fend off new entrants.
The downgrade adds to pressure on Adobe's stock, which has already dropped significantly this year. The lowered price target suggests further downside risk, as investors weigh the potential for AI to reshape the software industry. Adobe's management has emphasized its commitment to AI innovation, but analysts remain cautious about the pace of adoption and the impact on revenue.
The news comes amid broader market concerns about AI's effect on established tech companies. Investors are closely watching how traditional software firms adapt to the rapidly evolving landscape.
