Jake Johnson Says New Girl Was So Intense He Quit Marijuana
By TrendingWire Newsroom
Jake Johnson, best known for playing Nick Miller on the hit TV show New Girl, has revealed that the role was so stressful he stopped smoking marijuana. In a recent interview, he said the experience was 'scary' and led him to quit the habit. Johnson is now promoting his new comedy film The Dink, which follows a former tennis pro who becomes a pickleball player. Despite the film's focus on the sport, Johnson admitted he had no experience with pickleball before taking the role. He underwent months of training to make his performance believable, comparing the process to pro wrestling where the outcome is planned but the physical effort is real. Johnson jokingly described the film as a 'sexier Challengers,' referencing the 2024 tennis drama. The Dink also features a cameo from Ben Stiller. Johnson's career has ranged from indie films to TV comedies, and his new project highlights the growing popularity of pickleball among older adults. While he didn't share a release date, the film is expected to draw fans of his previous work.
