Bethesda Confirms ‘Fallout 5’ in Development, ‘Elder Scrolls 6’ Remains Top Priority
By TrendingWire Newsroom
Bethesda Game Studios has announced that both ‘Fallout 5’ and ‘The Elder Scrolls 6’ are in active development, with the latter being the studio’s main focus. The news came from studio director Todd Howard on Friday, following a wave of layoffs at parent company Xbox earlier this month. Howard stated that their teams are currently working on ‘The Elder Scrolls 6’ and have begun preproduction on ‘Fallout 5.’ Both games will use the Creation engine, a technology Bethesda has employed for years. The layoffs at Xbox affected thousands of employees across various studios, but Bethesda’s projects continue. The ‘Elder Scrolls 6’ was first announced in 2018, but details remain scarce. Meanwhile, the ‘Fallout’ series recently saw a resurgence in popularity due to the Amazon Prime TV adaptation. Fans have been eagerly awaiting news on both titles. Bethesda has not yet provided release dates for either game. The studio is known for open-world role-playing games, with past hits including ‘Skyrim’ and ‘Fallout 4.’ The confirmation of ‘Fallout 5’ and the prioritization of ‘Elder Scrolls 6’ signal a long-term commitment to these iconic franchises, despite the broader industry challenges.
