India has successfully tested its first hydrogen fuel cell train, which covered approximately 900 kilometers over five days on its initial route. The train operates on the Jind-Sonipat corridor in the state of Haryana. It uses hydrogen fuel cells to generate power, producing only water vapor and heat as emissions. Passenger fares on this pilot project remain the same as those on regular diesel services. The train has carried many passengers during its trial runs.
