A US government official has accused Chinese startup Moonshot AI of stealing technology from American AI company Anthropic. Michael Kratsios, a White House official, claimed that Moonshot used a covert internal platform to copy Anthropic's Fable model at a large scale. The stolen technology was allegedly used to build Moonshot's own AI model, Kimi K3. Kratsios also alleged that Moonshot accessed banned Nvidia GB300 chips in Thailand. These chips are subject to US export restrictions. The accusations come after US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent warned of possible sanctions over Chinese AI models. Moonshot AI has not yet responded to the allegations. The case highlights ongoing tensions between the US and China over technology and intellectual property rights.
