The Supreme Court has agreed to hear a petition against the organisers of the 'Sansad Chalo' march, and in a separate matter is considering transferring a Tamil Nadu anti-corruption case against an Enforcement Directorate (ED) officer to a central agency.
In the first matter, the court will hear a petition relating to the July 20 protests in Delhi, citing the importance of restraint and community service for violators.
In the second, a bench headed by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant has refused to lift a stay on criminal proceedings. The bench is mulling transferring the case, which is being investigated by the Tamil Nadu Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC), to a central agency.
