L7 Bassist Jennifer Finch Dies at 59 After Cancer Battle

Jennifer Finch, the bassist and a founding member of the influential rock band L7, has died at the age of 59. She had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer. Her death was confirmed by family members. No further details about her passing were immediately available.
Finch co-founded L7 in Los Angeles in 1985. The band became known for its raw, punk-influenced sound and feminist lyrics, gaining a loyal following in the alternative rock scene of the 1990s. L7 released several albums, including the critically acclaimed 'Bricks Are Heavy' in 1992, which featured the hit single 'Pretend We're Dead.' The band's music often addressed social issues and challenged gender norms in rock.
Finch left L7 in 1996 but rejoined for reunion shows in later years. She also pursued other musical projects and was respected for her contributions to the punk and grunge movements. Fans and fellow musicians have paid tribute to her influence and energy on stage.
