Tom Morello, best known as the guitarist for Rage Against the Machine, has announced his first solo rock album, set for release in September. The LP will feature appearances from Serj Tankian of System of a Down, Irish hip-hop group Kneecap, and rock band Beartooth. Alongside the announcement, Morello released a new song titled 'Date Night,' which he describes as an anti-fascist track. According to reports, the song tells the story of three girls who assassinated Nazis during World War II. The album as a whole is said to contain anti-fascist and anti-racist themes. Morello has previously released solo work under the name The Nightwatchman, which focused on acoustic folk-punk, but this marks his first full-length rock album under his own name. The album's title and tracklist have not yet been revealed. Morello has been politically active throughout his career, and this album continues that tradition with its explicitly anti-fascist content. Fans can expect the album to arrive in September.
