After midnight talks with government representatives, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) or CJP has claimed that FIRs against protesters in NDA-ruled states will be withdrawn and arrested demonstrators will be released. The party made the announcement early on Wednesday, stating that the Bihar and Assam governments have already agreed to drop cases and free those held during protests. According to the CJP, draft notifications were shared during the meeting, and similar actions will follow in other BJP-led and NDA states. The party’s chief spokesperson, Saurav Das, said no protester would be left alone and that the CJP would continue to push for the protection of all demonstrators. The development comes after days of protests over various issues, with the CJP demanding the release of those arrested. The government has not yet issued an official statement on the matter. The CJP called the midnight talks a positive step but warned that it would keep up pressure until all demands are met.
