A man who kept his mother's body in a freezer for nearly three years while collecting more than £78,000 of her benefits has been jailed. The man, identified as Christopher Phillips, had placed yellow and pink roses and a birthday card on the body of his mother, Sylvia, according to a report. The details emerged as Phillips was sentenced for the offence. The case came to light after the body was discovered in the freezer at the family home. Phillips had continued to receive his mother's benefits during the period, amounting to over £78,000. He was jailed for the crime.
