US Launches Eighth Consecutive Strike on Iran Amid Escalating Tensions

By TrendingWire Newsroom

The United States has carried out its eighth consecutive airstrike on Iranian targets overnight, according to US Central Command. The strikes targeted Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) forces, which Washington claims were responsible for a deadly attack on US service members in Jordan. The Pentagon confirmed that two American soldiers were killed in that incident, which US President Donald Trump called "a very sad thing." Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stated that the loss only strengthens US resolve. Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei responded by condemning the repeated US breaches of agreements, saying the US president's signature is "worthless and invalid." Meanwhile, an American strike hit Iran's Qeshm Island on Sunday, according to local officials. Major-General Ali Abdullahi, a top Iranian commander, warned that any aggression would meet a "decisive and devastating response" from Iran's armed forces. In a separate development, Kuwait's Ali Al-Salem base and Camp Udairi came under attack by Iranian kamikaze drones during the 16th phase of Iran's Operation Sa'eqeh (Thunderbolt). In Gaza, Israeli strikes killed 11 Palestinians on Saturday, including a family of five—three children and their parents. The US State Department has issued a global travel advisory, urging Americans to exercise increased caution due to heightened tensions in the Middle East, warning of a complex security environment with potential for unforeseen escalation.
