Prime Video has released the first trailer for its new series “Blade Runner 2099” at Comic-Con. The show is a live-action sequel to Ridley Scott’s classic sci-fi films and takes place 50 years after the events of “Blade Runner 2049.” The series stars Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer, known for “Euphoria,” as the lead characters. Set in the year 2099, it continues the story of the dystopian world. The trailer debuted during a panel at the convention, giving fans a first look at the visuals and tone. Prime Video plans to premiere the limited series in late fall. This marks the return of the Blade Runner franchise nine years after the last film. The show is produced by Alcon Entertainment.
