AMC has renewed its series “Interview With the Vampire” for a fourth season, which will be renamed “Anne Rice’s Queen of the Damned.” The announcement was made during a Comic-Con panel in San Diego focused on the character Vampire Lestat. The renewal comes just before the airing of the season three finale of the current installment, “The Vampire Lestat.” Hannah Moscovitch, an executive producer on “The Vampire Lestat,” will take over as showrunner for the new season. The series is based on the works of author Anne Rice, who wrote the original “Interview with the Vampire” novel. The show has followed the lives of vampires Lestat de Lioncourt and Louis de Pointe du Lac, among others. The fourth season will adapt Rice’s novel “The Queen of the Damned.” The announcement was met with cheers from fans at the convention.
