Netflix has confirmed a theatrical rollout for 'Possible Love,' the latest film from acclaimed Korean director Lee Chang-dong, ahead of its global streaming premiere. The film will first debut at the Venice Film Festival, followed by its North American premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.
'Possible Love' will open in South Korean theaters on September 23. It will then expand to Australia on October 22, and to the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, and Japan on October 23. After its theatrical run, the film will be available to stream globally on Netflix starting November 6.
The news marks Netflix's commitment to supporting award-season contenders with qualifying theatrical releases. Lee Chang-dong is known for his critically acclaimed works such as 'Burning' and 'Secret Sunshine,' and 'Possible Love' is one of the most anticipated titles of the fall festival season. Further release dates for other territories are expected to be announced.
