The 74th San Sebastian Film Festival, set for September, has added two new titles to its official competition. One is 'Milo', directed by Nicole Garcia and starring Marion Cotillard and Théodore Pellerin. The film is produced and co-financed by Studiocanal and Trésor Films, with Studiocanal also handling international sales. A new image of Cotillard and Pellerin was released alongside the announcement, and early distribution deals have already been secured. The other competition entry is 'In My Father's Room', the feature directorial debut of best-selling Japanese novelist Maha Harada. Known in Japan as 'Muyou no Hito', the film is adapted from Harada's own short story 'An Unnecessary Man'. The cast includes a number of acclaimed Japanese actors, though full details have not yet been disclosed. Bitter's End has boarded the film for international sales. Both films will vie for the festival's top prizes, which include the Golden Shell for best film. The San Sebastian Film Festival is one of Europe's most prestigious film events, known for launching award-winning films.
