Paramount+ has ordered a limited series sequel to the 1995 film “Clueless,” with Alicia Silverstone reprising her role as Cher Horowitz. The project, which was originally set up at Peacock in early 2025 but was dropped in April 2026, has found a new home at the Paramount-owned streamer. Filming is scheduled to begin in Los Angeles in 2027. The series comes from Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, creators of “The O.C.” and “Gossip Girl,” along with Jordan Weiss, writer of “Freakier Friday,” and CBS Studios. Details of the plot have not been disclosed, but the limited series will follow Cher years after the original film. Silverstone’s involvement has been confirmed, making her the first cast member attached. The order marks a homecoming for the franchise, which was originally a Paramount Pictures release.
