Cameras are rolling in the U.K. on 'Stages,' the directorial debut of actor Sonoya Mizuno, known for 'Ex Machina' and 'House of the Dragon.' The film, first announced in December, has revealed its ensemble cast: Julie Delpy, Takehiro Hira, Kathryn Hunter, Kate Dickie, and Emma D'Arcy. Focus Features has acquired international rights and will distribute through Universal Pictures International, while A24 is also involved in the project. The story follows a plot that remains under wraps but is said to explore themes of identity and transformation. Mizuno steps behind the camera for the first time after a career in front of it, including roles in 'Devs' and 'Civil War.' The cast features Delpy, known for 'Meet the Barbarians'; Hira, who appeared in 'Rental Family' and 'Shōgun'; Hunter from 'Poor Things'; Dickie from 'Dept. Q'; and D'Arcy from 'Digger.' Production is now underway, with no release date announced yet.
