Adam Sandler has reunited with his comedy franchise co-stars as production begins on “Grown Ups 3,” the third installment of the popular film series. Sandler, a three-time Golden Globe nominee, shared the first set photo on Thursday, signaling the start of filming after Netflix announced the project in May.
The new movie is directed by Kyle Newacheck and will feature the return of Chris Rock, Kevin James, David Spade, and Rob Schneider alongside Sandler. The sequel arrives more than a decade after the previous “Grown Ups” movie, bringing the original cast back together for what Netflix has been developing as part of its ongoing partnership with the actor.
The set photo marks the first public look at the cast reuniting on location, confirming that production is officially under way. Details about the plot have not been revealed, but the franchise is known for its ensemble comedy centered on longtime friends navigating adulthood and family life.
“Grown Ups” originally premiered in 2010 and was followed by “Grown Ups 2” in 2013, both featuring Sandler alongside the same core group of comedians. Netflix’s decision to revive the series continues its string of collaborations with Sandler, who has made multiple films for the streaming service. The release date for “Grown Ups 3” has not yet been announced.
