The Karnataka High Court has stayed further investigation into a criminal case against three members of a family in connection with a road-rage incident, while sharply criticizing a judicial officer for abusing her office. The incident took place in Kolar district. The court observed that the episode appeared to be a classic example of abuse of the office of a judicial officer, and that the officer acted as a judge in her own cause. The case was registered against Vinay K.M., 24, his mother V. Kavitha, 48, and his grandfather P. Venkatesh, 70, all residents of Malur. The stay halts the probe. The high court took strong exception to the officer's conduct during the incident. The officer's private car and her husband were involved in the road-rage incident, according to the court proceedings.
