Arab nations back Saudi Arabia after Houthi accusations

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), along with Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, and the Muslim World League, have strongly rejected recent accusations made by the Houthi group against Saudi Arabia. They voiced their support for the kingdom and highlighted the importance of keeping international shipping routes safe. GCC Secretary-General Jassim Al-Budaiwi called the Houthi statements baseless and said they aim to twist facts and avoid responsibility for actions that have worsened the crisis in Yemen and threatened regional peace. He noted that Saudi Arabia has long supported the Yemeni people through aid, development, and peace efforts. Al-Budaiwi also warned that attacks on sea lanes violate international law and urged global action to stop such threats. Jordan condemned the Houthi remarks and expressed full solidarity with Saudi Arabia. Kuwait and Qatar also rejected the allegations, stressing that Saudi security is linked to the entire region. They called for enforcing UN resolutions on Yemen and Red Sea navigation. The Muslim World League's Secretary-General, Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa, called the accusations false and an attempt to distract from the Houthis' destructive actions in Yemen. He pointed to Saudi Arabia's humanitarian aid, development projects, and support for UN-led peace efforts as proof of its commitment to Yemen's welfare. These statements show broad regional backing for Saudi Arabia amid ongoing tensions in the area.
