Olivia Rodrigo told fans that she has noticed the smell from people wearing diapers at her shows. Noah Kahan also addressed the issue after a video showed a worker cleaning up human waste at one of his concerts. He asked fans to simply use the bathroom if they need to. Meanwhile, a fan at a Morgan Wallen concert reported being urinated on by another attendee, and police are now investigating.
This behavior is not new. In 2024, a similar incident happened at a Sabrina Carpenter show, leading to the sale of a product called a “pit diaper.” The pressure to stay in the front row, known as “getting barrier,” has created a subculture where fans prioritize position over basic needs.
Experts say this trend is dangerous and unhygienic. While some fans may have medical conditions, most are choosing to stay put rather than lose their spot. Artists and venues are struggling to address the problem, with some pleading for common sense.
The front row remains a coveted space, but these incidents show that the pursuit of proximity can go too far.
