L7 Bassist Jennifer Finch Dies at 59 After Cancer Battle
By TrendingWire Newsroom
Jennifer Finch, the bassist and a founding member of the influential 1990s rock band L7, has died at age 59. The news was shared on the band's official Instagram account, which stated that Finch passed away after 'a long courageous fight with brain cancer.' Earlier this month, friends and family had set up a GoFundMe page to help with her medical expenses.
Finch was a key part of L7 during their most successful years, contributing to albums like 'Smell the Magic' and 'Bricks Are Heavy.' The band was known for its raw, punk-influenced sound and feminist lyrics, helping shape the grunge and alternative rock scene of the early 1990s. Finch left the group in 1996 but remained active in music.
Fans and fellow musicians have expressed their condolences online, remembering Finch as a talented musician and a strong presence. The cause of death was the brain cancer she had been fighting.
If you or someone you know is struggling, help is available. In India, call the Tele-MANAS helpline on 14416. Elsewhere, contact your local crisis line.
