Pakistan has deployed a large number of Chinese SH-15 artillery guns along its border with India, with the 155mm weapons now operational. The Pakistani army has also secured a license to produce these artillery pieces locally. India, meanwhile, is modernizing its own artillery with new systems and domestic development, as both nations bolster their artillery capabilities for strategic advantage.
In a separate development along the disputed China-India border, a 2024 astronaut photograph shows the icy surface of Pangong Lake breaking apart in the Tibetan Plateau. The point where the ice meets the water almost exactly matches the disputed border between the two countries.
