Jon Stewart and Pete Davidson are teaming up again to host a comedy benefit for 9/11 charities, marking the 25th anniversary of the attacks. The event, titled “NYC Still Rising After 25 Years: A 9/11 Comedy Benefit,” will take place on Thursday, September 10, at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Proceeds from the one-night-only show will go to various organizations supporting victims and first responders of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
This is the second time the duo has headlined such a benefit. Five years ago, they led “NYC Still Rising After 20 Years: A Comedy Celebration” for the 20th anniversary. This year’s event is produced in partnership with Live Nation and promises an all-star lineup of comedians, though specific performers have not yet been announced.
Stewart, a former host of “The Daily Show,” and Davidson, a comedian and former “Saturday Night Live” cast member, have both been vocal about their connections to the attacks. Stewart has long advocated for 9/11 first responders, while Davidson’s father was a firefighter who died on 9/11.
Tickets for the event go on sale soon, with all proceeds benefiting 9/11 charities. Organizers hope to raise significant funds and honor the memory of those lost.
