Right-wing commentator and Hindutva ideologue T.G. Mohandas was taken into custody by a team from the Thiruvananthapuram Cyber Police Station on Sunday evening. The police reached his residence at Koovappadam near Mattancherry in Kochi while investigating his controversial remarks about student protesters at Jantar Mantar and about women.
His remarks were linked to the NEET protest. Youth and student organisations had held protest marches outside his house demanding legal action. Leaders of the Students Federation of India and the All India Students Federation filed complaints against him.
Mohandas was taken into custody as part of the investigation. Further details were not immediately available.
