A former U.S. Marine has been arrested near President Trump's golf course in California and charged with multiple felonies after authorities discovered a loaded pistol, ammunition, a badge and notebooks described as concerning.
The man was arrested ahead of a fundraiser at the course. Authorities said he was allegedly monitoring security preparations. A loaded pistol and ammunition were found in both his vehicle and his home.
He faces multiple felony charges, including robbery and weapons offenses. He pleaded not guilty and was ordered to stay away from the venue. The former Marine denies the charges.
The arrest came more than a year after a previous assassination attempt conviction.
