India has called for international scrutiny of Pakistan's actions in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), where more than 40 people have been killed in violence since June, according to Hindustan Times. The region has seen massive protests over the past month over inflated living costs, alleged administrative apathy, political discrimination and atrocities against minorities, The Hindu reported. New Delhi has repeatedly denounced Islamabad's crackdown in recent weeks and is now pressing the global community to act. India described the crackdown as 'ruthless' and said the protests reflect deep public anger over the region's conditions. The appeal marks a continued effort by India to draw international attention to the situation in PoK.
