Justin Langer Leading Candidate for England Test Coach Role
By TrendingWire Newsroom
Justin Langer, the former head coach of the Australian cricket team, has emerged as the top candidate to become England's next Test coach. He is in line to replace Brendon McCullum, who is stepping down from the role. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) hopes to finalize the appointment before England's upcoming Test series against Pakistan next month. Langer previously led Australia to success, including winning the T20 World Cup and the Ashes series. However, two prominent Indian coaches, Ravi Shastri and Rahul Dravid, will not be considered for the position. Shastri and Dravid, both former head coaches of the Indian national team, are not part of the recruitment process. The ECB is focusing on other candidates, with Langer currently the frontrunner. The new coach will take charge of the Test team as England looks to build on its recent performances. The ECB has not provided a timeline beyond the desire to have someone in place for the Pakistan series.
