Brittany Boltinhouse has been stripped of her Miss North Carolina USA title weeks before the national Miss USA pageant. The Miss USA organization announced the decision, saying her conduct violated its standards. The organization specifically condemned racism, homophobia and transphobia, according to Fox News.
Boltinhouse, who held the title as Miss North Carolina USA 2026, had been set to compete in the national pageant in August. The decision came after allegedly racist social media posts surfaced online, E! Online reported.
The organization said it is holding winners accountable for their behavior, including actions outside pageant events. It did not name a successor to represent North Carolina at the national competition. The reports did not say who will replace Boltinhouse.
